I am based in Papamoa and travel across Tauranga, Te Puke, and Paengaroa. I can travel to Rotorua in some cases by arrangement.

I focus on lifestyle newborn photography, with a few more curated set-ups. I like to capture family moments and only minimally pose the baby. This is both for safety reasons and because my vision is natural, comfortable and relaxed, with more subtle photo editing at the end. More than anything else, newborns want to be in their parents’ arms! What I Won’t Do: Put baby in an unnatural position, even when using props. So you won’t see “froggy pose,” “potato sack,” or some of the traditional newborn looks you may have seen online. Photograph babies naked. Insist on baby being asleep. Wide awake shots are some of my favorites! My focus is on baby details and family connection. I want you to have fun and enjoy the process!

You will often see a range of 5-15 days old given by newborn photographers, and this can certainly be an easier time when babies tend to be sleepier and more amenable to being positioned. I am happy to photograph babies up to 12 weeks old for newborn sessions. Please just be aware that the older the baby, typically the higher chance they will stay awake, maybe become unsettled, and could resist wrapping and posing. Whatever their age, I’m committed to following baby’s lead and taking beautiful photos of them just as they are. Believe it or not, you might even look back fondly on their little newborn cries!

I recommend booking in before baby is due, ideally with about 6 weeks’ notice. If baby is already here, don’t worry. I will do my best to arrange a time for you.

A minimum of 1.5 hours and a maximum of 2.5 hours. There will be plenty of time for feeding, settling and changing. The variability in time is because every baby and family are different! Sometimes set-up takes a little longer or babies need more settling.
